Synopsis:

The lecture will present an emerging conceptual framework for capacity development, focusing on interventions aimed at impacting change at organisational and institutional level rather than simply transferring skills to individuals. Using the World Bank's learning interventions in the area of governance and anti-corruption as an example, Mr. Philip Karp will illustrate how the Bank transformed its pedagogical approach, including the shift from mainly face-to-face, to distance and e-learning approaches.
