Goh Keng Swee: His Life and Work

“A visionary? I am no visionary; a visionary is a dreamer and I am not a dreamer”.
So said Dr Goh Keng Swee in answer to a reporter’s question prior to his retirement in December 1984. Yet to achieve all that he had accomplished in his lifetime, the late Dr Goh Keng Swee had to be a visionary.
Two authors, Ms Tan Siok Sun and Dr Ooi Kee Beng, who have done extensive research on Dr Goh’s life and work will share with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy what they see are the aspects of leadership that Dr Goh had exhibited in three and a half decades of public service. They will explore the events which have shaped his life and work, the writers and writings which have influenced him as well as Dr Goh’s thinking as reflected in the speeches he delivered.
