Knowledge Management Work at the Asian Development Bank: Experiences & Renewed Focus

Synopsis:

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has recently undertaken a thorough mid-term review of its Strategy 2020. One of the areas of focus has been on knowledge management (KM) and finding ways to enhance work in this particular domain. KM work is part of ADB’s value proposition of “Finance ++” where focus is not only on financing development projects in the developing member countries of Asia and the Pacific but also on leveraging resources from other partners and on providing knowledge solutions.

In the new areas of focus on KM work, particular emphasis is placed internally on a “One ADB” approach, and externally on partnerships with centers of excellence including modified ways of engaging with partners. This presentation will highlight specific strategies that ADB is contemplating on how to enhance KM work in its development operations and how to engage better with external knowledge partners.
