Computers and computing are an essential part of modern life today. More powerful devices are available at cheaper prices than ever before, and many countries in ASEAN have taken advantage of this to leapfrog their economies into the digital age of computing. We have come to rely on computing in nearly ever aspect of our lives, from banking and finance, to travel and mobility, to keeping in touch with family and friends online. ASEAN states recognize the importance of these new infocomm technologies and the ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2015 and the Masterplan for ASEAN Connectivity are designed to harness and multiply the positive effects of transformational technologies for the creation of a vibrant and inclusive ASEAN community. The challenge to policymakers and technology players is how to connect the dots and change the way we think about cloud computing and big data, how we engage with computing systems, and how to develop new ways to blend the digital world with our physical world. We invite you to join Mr. Craig Mundie, Chief Research and Strategy Officer at Microsoft, as he shares his thoughts on what's next for computing and what's next for ASEAN.
