Synopsis:

A major constituent of Canada, Quebec is also a distinctive society with a more or less salient capacity to shape its own destiny. At the dawn of XXIst Century, challenges that Quebec is facing are numerous: the impact of globalization on its economy and society; the aging of its population; its declining importance in canadian politics; the vulnerability of French language, a central feature of Quebecois identity, in a continent (North America) and in a world decisively marked by English as Lingua franca. We would go on and on. How is Quebec addressing these issues in a context where uncertainty is a crucial variable in the equation of the future? And in this equation, what importance is Asia getting?
