The Singapore Red Cross – Serving Humanity

Synopsis:

The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) is a local humanitarian organisation which is part of the global Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. Its mission is to serve humanity and to save lives. In Singapore its priority is to serve the vulnerable and the disadvantaged in our community, including the elderly and disabled. In the region and globally, the SRC responds to disasters; providing assistance and support to the survivors.

The SRC has a network of volunteers and supporters to enable it to provide its humanitarian services. They range from students in our Youth Movement, to professionals to retirees. These volunteers reflect the SRC’s aim to bring the community together to help the disadvantaged amongst us.

The talk will focus on the mission of the Singapore Red Cross, its mission and goals, its relevance today for Singapore and beyond, its services and most importantly how each one of us can play a part to serve humanity.
