US Politics: The Big Picture

Synopsis:

If you are someone who frequently follows news stories from the US but sometimes worry you don’t get the bigger context, this lecture will help.  Professor Kelman will discuss the major political cleavage lines in domestic and international policy in US politics, recent political changes involving immigrants and young people, and the historical reasons behind the gridlock we observe in contemporary US politics.  The lecture will be illustrated with video clips from American political campaigns and other sources.
