Writing effective Public policy genres: Essays, Reports, policy Memo, case studies and book reviews

Synopsis:

There are two parts to this workshop. The first part will focus on how to plan for your assignments by understanding questions prompts and the rhetorical context of your paper. A well planned assignment is essential to help your reader or marker understand your ideas for the context of your paper.

The second part will give you a hands-on identification of the various public policy genres or types. We will look at the respective ‘structures’ and features associated with the genres. Once you can identify the public policy types, you are off to an easier start to writing your paper.
