Mano Sabnani is currently the Chairman and CEO of Rafflesia Holdings, a company he founded in 2008 to pursue opportunities in the media and financial sectors.

A well-known writer and commentator in the mass media, Mano Sabnani rose from a junior reporter in 1977 to be the Chief Editor of Singapore’s Business Times (BT) from 1986 to 1992.  From May 1992 to the close of 1995, he was the Managing Editor of The Straits Times and Head of the Editorial Support Unit of the English/Malay newspapers of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).

From January 1996 to August 1997, Mano was the Director of Research at DBS Securities. He then moved on as the Managing Director for Investments at Individual Banking, DBS. Mano also served as the MD for Equity Capital Markets, DBS Bank from July  2000 to June 2001 when he left DBS Bank to join Corporate Brokers International (CBI) as Executive Director.

He was subsequently invited to take charge of money-losing MediaCorp Press as the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of daily newspaper TODAY from April 2003. He developed the paper into the second most read in Singapore and made it very profitable by the time he left in Nov 2006.

Mano then spent some time on writing a major business case study book for Keppel Offshore & Marine (KOM) entitled “More than mettle: the Keppel Offshore &  Marine story”.

In June 2007, Mano was invited to lead the SGX-listed Novena Holdings consumer group as its Executive Director. He left in May 2008, after helping the group lift itself to a higher level of financial performance and market value.

Mano served SGX- listed Multistar Holdings as Group MD from July 2008 until May 2009.. He left after putting MSH on a good footing for a reverse takeover; a clean shell with its construction-related, tax and other issues resolved.

Mano’s overall career spans 30 years as a versatile journalist, experienced editor, senior manager, investment banker and advisor to several companies.

Mano has a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Physics from the University of Singapore (now the National University of Singapore). He attended the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD Business School (France) in 1990 and the Press Fellowship programme at Wolfson College, Cambridge (UK), in 1986.
