Executive (Administration) (Two-Year Contract)

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy research think-tank in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

IPS is looking to hire, on a two-year contract, an Executive for its Events and Administration team. This close-knit and dedicated team is responsible for running all IPS events, which serve as a platform to communicate research findings to the broader public in Singapore.

The job scope includes:

  • Coordinating, administering and managing conferences and other events; ensuring the management, researchers and administration staff work closely for the success of the Institute’s events.
  • Handling all aspects of event management. This include planning, budgeting, liaising with speakers, booking venues, arranging for participant registration, communicating with the media, preparing conference kits, managing event secretariats, managing the event on site, and post-event follow-ups.
  • Assisting in general administrative duties such as maintaining the Institute’s database used in the invitation of participants for events, and any ad-hoc duties assigned.

Applicants must:

  • Have at least a Bachelors degree, preferably majoring in English, Mass Communications, Political Science or Business Administration
  • Preferably with two years’ working experience. Fresh graduates with a keen interest in event organising may also apply.
  • Be motivated, able to work under pressure and possess good interpersonal skills
  • Have a strong command of both written and spoken English
  • Be methodical, organised and a good team player
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, preferably with a very good working knowledge in MS Access
