IPS Forum on the Reserved Presidential Election

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is organising a Forum on the Reserved Presidential Election on Friday, 8 September 2017 at the Raffles City Convention Centre, as part of our series of discussions on this important institution.

The objectives of the forum are first, to discuss the specific workings of the reserved election; second, to examine how it is being understood on the ground now that the election is imminent; and third; to explore the possible ramifications of the desired and likely outcome of the implementation of the system in the September election, on Singapore’s political and social development. It will feature two ministerial dialogues and a panel discussion with experts.
