Thirteenth Family Research Network (FRN) Forum: “Familial Caregivers and their Impact on the Resilience of Family Function”

The FRN forum is an initiative to bring together a network of academics, researchers and policy-makers to engage in regular discussions on family research through a series of closed-door sessions (for more information see here).

This forum considers the impact of informal care-givers in developing resilience in the family. In particular, the presentations at the forum will focus on research that shows the significant challenges faced by the families of individuals suffering from chronic illnesses: long-term care-giving pressures, increased financial and psychological stress and varying levels of social and community support. The presentations will also provide a review of the social and community infrastructure necessary to provide adequate support to families living with these care-giving challenges.

Beyond information sharing, a major goal of the forum is to stimulate ideas for research as well as policies and programmes to assist stakeholders in their work.  We look forward to your active participation in the forum.

As this is intended to be a closed-door forum, information and views disclosed and/or shared at the forum shall strictly not be disseminated, reported, published and/or shared in any media (including but not limited to social media such as blogging or tweeting) and/or in any form or manner whatsoever.
